Ease visa requirements, says Mongolian envoy

On Feb. 1, Canadian mining company Khan Resources was purchased by a subsidiary of the state-run China National Nuclear Corporation. The reason? Khan's majority stake in the Dornod uranium field in Mongolia.

This follows last year's contract by SouthGobi, whose largest shareholder is Canadian coal company Ivanhoe Mines, to develop the Ovoot Tolgoi copper mine, located 40 kilometres from the Chinese border.
