The government has launched a detailed investigation to determine the scope of damage caused by Maxime Bernier's failure to guard secret documents while he was foreign affairs minister, a House committee heard last week.

Meanwhile, Privy Council clerk Kevin Lynch and investigators of the so-called NAFTAgate affair were grilled in the Commons' Government operations committee.
